Project of building the largest Fishery Academy in West Africa
"NAMIBE FISHERY ACADEMY"

Navimor International is currently carrying out the contract with Ministry of Fisheries of Angola for "Participation in establishing and erection of NAMIBE FISHERY ACADEMY".

Academy didactic infrastructure will be consisting of 5 buildings of total 30.000 sqm. located on 7 ha area.

Namibe Fishery Academy will be public high school of maritime profile, educating specialists on 4 year courses in following faculties:

  1. Fishery Faculty,
  2. Fishing Processing Faculty,
  3. Aquatic Recourses Exploration Faculty.
Navimor's educational partner in this contract is Gdynia Maritime University having over 80 years of experience in maritime high level education.

Navimor International and Gdynia Maritime University will elaborate and deliver:
  1. educational and orgasational concept of the Academy,
  2. educational and training programs for all three faculties,
  3. sylabusses for all courses and specializations,
  4. specification of laboratory classes and lab equipment.
Navimor Inrnational being the main contractor and co-ordinator of the whole project will deliver modern educational equipment, including high - tech ship operation simulators. Structural design of the Nabime Fisheries Academy is ordered with Gabinete de Estrutura e Geotecnica LDA from Portugal, while fabrication of the buildings is subcontracted to the Chinese company CGC Overseas Construction Angola LTD.

The ceremony of laying of the first foundation stone was performed in May 2008. Construction period of the buildings is scheduled for 12 months.

Currently construction of 5 didactic buildings is being accomplished.

First students will start their education in 2011.

Over 1500 students will be learning on all three faculties.
